Cardinal Langley GCSE Results 2017
It was another successful year for students at Cardinal Langley. Students achieved success in a wide range of subjects with over 80% achieving A*-C grades in Art, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, French, BTEC Health & Social Care, History, ICT, Physical Education, BTEC Sport, Textiles and BTEC Travel & Tourism. In a year when the headlines are focussed on national changes, it is a fantastic achievement that so many subjects continued to perform significantly above national expectations.
The majority of subjects are still graded this year as A*-C and in these subjects 70% of all grades were A*-C with 20% A*/A and an amazing 99% pass rate overall. This year saw the introduction of the new 1-9 grading system for English and maths which means it isn’t possible to make any direct comparison with previous years but we are very pleased with 63% of the grades being 4 or above which is described by the Government as a new pass.
The Headteacher, Mr Bridson, said ‘Our students have once again achieved some amazing results and thoroughly deserve their success. It is a pity that the national headlines are about Government changes rather than student performance but we are proud of how they have coped with the new curriculum.’
